How I read research papers

Example post. Replace or delete it.

1. First pass: title, abstract, figures, and conclusion. Decide whether it is worth more time.
2. Second pass: read the body, skipping proofs and derivations, and note the key claims.
3. Third pass: work through the details as if re-deriving the paper yourself.

The goal of the first pass is to decide, not to understand.
